This Sunset pool was built for an imaginative structural engineer at his new Sydney home to incorporate a subterranean games room and feature a spectacular full width underwater viewing window.
 This exacting project demanded Sunset’s specialised approach to forming concrete pool shells, and particular attention to the engineering of the pool and games room’s common glazed wall. Sunset’s double formed solution necessitated creating the games room roof structure, the dividing wall and the reinforced pool shell in a single Xypex waterproofed concrete pour.
Additional top quality Sunset Pool design elements concealed within the poured and vibrated concrete include double steel reinforcing (at 200mm centres), two swim jets and an Accent Air three phase heat pump.
Sunset’s final finish also met the engineer’s brief for a ‘perfect pool’, the fully lined Bisazza glass mosaic tile interior was applied over an elastomeric high performance UV stabilised polyurethane membrane before being epoxy grouted. The pool coping and tiled surrounds were colour keyed to match the sand coloured new building and surrounding raised garden beds.
 Sunset overcame the restricted site access by employing mini dump trucks and small excavators that could negotiate the narrow (1100mm wide) lane. A boom-crane was needed to position and install the massive glass feature window into its heavy 316 grade stainless steel frame.
