Using The Wrong Glue Can Be Fatal

Picture a contractor plumbing your pool, then a concrete slab with reinforced steel is laid on top of the pipes. What if the contractor used the wrong glue and the glue wasn't suitable for potable water? A leak starts and your pool drops water, shortly you call your pool shop and a leak specialist comes out to tell you that the leak is under the slab. Who's at fault? Your warranty has most likely expired and you have to pay for unecessary repairs just because the contractor used the wrong glue. BIG DOLLARS $$$

When bonding PVC pipes together, we must ensure the correct adhesive is applied.

Types Of Glue On The Market

Clear & Blue: (Exactly the same with different die)
Not approved for potable water - Non pressure cement.
Green:
However also comes in clear.
Difference in chemicals is:
      No - Methyl Ethyl Ketone
      Replaced with Tetrahydrofuran @ 30-60%
Higher concentration of Cyclohexanone @ 30-60% where clear & blue is @ 10-30%

2. Concrete Cancer / "Rust"

Reinforced steel can expand 8 times it's natural size therefore blowing out the concrete within, though generally in pools the reinforced steel due to acidic & alkaline pH levels breaks down and bleeds. When you see your interior with a bad rust stain, it's because the reinforced steel is bleeding and will continue to do so indefinitely until repaired correctly.

When treating concrete cancer "rust" we must:

Expose the reinforced steel where bleeding.
Trace horizontal & vertical bars back to good steel.
Cut exposed reo bars, acid clean, dry & seal expose reo tips with C.A.2.7.3 epoxy sealant.
No two seperate concrete slabs will bond together, thats why we use an epoxy resin.
Render walls or floor back to existing surface area with Sika 32 epoxy resin bonding agent &   Monotop 615 HB cementitious polymer modified mortar.
After 48 hours the high grade mortor will cure to 42MPa.
