An antiquated concrete pool with pebblecrete coping & Marblesheen interior was a dark and dreary liability to this beautiful property in Drummoyne.
The concept was to lighten the pool area, new coping, waterline tiles, interior etc however we took the concept further by introducing quality sandstone throughout the pool that tied into the front of the sandstone house.
Naturally, a budget was considered and where we would normally fully tile this type of properties swimming pool, we spent the dollars on custom “onsite” bullnose for the WOW factor, plus build the relationship from the house to the bark yard.
A new reinforced concrete slab was built in front of the pool to the fence allowing practical use and then tiled with thick 30mm dense sandstone slabs.
Large oversized slabs where custom ordered and specialist sandstone masons hand bullnose (x 2 edges = double sides). The purpose was to visualise the grandeur of the sandstone without compromise by smaller stone & many cuts around the edges. Cladded vertical sandstone to the edges allowed the front appearance and then an acrylic render with polymers was rendered around the rest of the pool plus painting to finish off the overall outside look.
New glass waterline tiles, full glass beading interior, new internal lighting & main drain completed the overall project along with upgrading the pool hydraulics & filtration system.
